Rea clinches first Superbike win

Jonathan Rea clinched his first win at World Superbike level in Sunday's San Marino round at Misano.

The Ballyclare rider, who was seventh in the first race, fought off Michael Fabrizio and Nori Haga to take the flag in the second race of the day.

Hannspree Ten Kate Honda man Rea took over the lead from Fabrizio going into the first corner and held a narrow advantage until they crossed the line.

Eugene Laverty was second to Cal Crutchlow in the Supersport race.

The championship leader beat Laverty in a sprint to the line and now leads his rival by 14 points.

It was a two-part race as it had to be red-flagged because of oil on the track.
