McParland spent eight years as a player at Notts |
Notts County have sacked manager Ian McParland after almost two years in charge of the League Two club.
McParland, who took over as boss in October 2007, has guided the Magpies to fifth in the table this season.
But speculation about his future has been rife since the summer takeover by Middle East consortium Munto Finance.
Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson was named director of football and the club's backers have revealed ambitious plans to reach the Premier League.
McParland spent eight years as a player at Meadow Lane, scoring 90 goals in 267 appearances.
